It was also announced that Polyphony Digital will be developing the game whereas Sony Interactive Entertainment will be publishing the game for PlayStation 5. Talking about the name of the game, the director Kazunori Yamauchi stated in an interview with GTPlanet that the title for the upcoming eighth part is still in development. Moreover, he said that their focus is to provide the fans with a fine-tuning of the classic GT experience. Finally, he concluded as he narrated how the title for this part was going to be a fusion of the past, present, and future thereby providing a complete or perfect Gran Turismo. “Gran Turismo 7” will also be taking advantage of PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller, ray tracing hardware, and Tempest Engine to support the 3D spatial audio, advanced haptic feedback, and real-time ray tracing effects. Consequently, the user will get an enhanced or completely unique experience this time. The game will even be making use of the custom SSD storage and increased processing power in the PlayStation 5. It will ensure that the loading time is reduced and run at 4k resolution with 60 fps (frames per second). This will thereby support for high dynamic range.
What is the game about?
The game revolves around racing simulation just like many other games. However, it is quite different than the other racing-car video games. PlayStation has already released an announcement trailer on their official YouTube channel. They released it on 12th June 2020 i.e. about 8 months ago. It has already crossed 9 million views and you can watch it below. We can see in the video that the main menu for the game is almost similar to that of “Gran Turismo 4”. In this part, the GT Simulation Mode will also be returning. Consequently, the definitive and long-established single-player feature will be back too. Apart from all this, we can also see that some other classic features will be returning. Some of them are the Special Events, traditional racing tracks and vehicles, Driving School, Tuning Parts Shop, Championships, GT Auto, and Used Car dealership.
However, you don’t need to be afraid about the features from the previous part being removed. The developers will be retaining the GT Sport Mode, Brand Central, and Discover that were launched in “Gran Turismo Sport”. While playing the game, it will be like a real-time experience due to the enhanced graphics. Moreover, you will be able to feel the bumps on the road due to the DualSense controller. It has been 4 years since the last part of “Gran Turismo” was released. Hence, the gaming freaks are eagerly waiting for this part. The franchise has sold about 80 million units to date on a global level. Consequently, it is also the highest-selling video game franchise of PlayStation. You will be able to buy the game for a price of just $70.
When is “Gran Turismo 7” going to release?
“Gran Turismo 7”, the racing simulation game that was earlier planned for a release in 2021 has now been postponed for a launch in the next year i.e. 2022. The sole reason behind the publishers pushing back the release date for the game is the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic had a major impact on the development of the game. Anyhow, the game will surely be worth the wait as it will be definitely coming out next year. The game will be released on PlayStation 5 only. However, after a few months, you might be able to enjoy it on PlayStation 4 as well. So, hold on tight to your seats while the game is in development. Until then, let us know in the comments section how excited you for the various new features that have been added to the game.
