New Journey To The West Season 1 – 8
Here is a short recap of what we have seen in the last 8 seasons of the show to give you a clearer idea. In the first season, the cast members went to Xi’an in China to collect the seven dragon balls. The trip was four nights and five days long. The various characters in this season were a Buddhist monk, a monkey character, a pig character, and a celestial being. All the seasons between 2 and 4 again had similar concepts. This time, the cast traveled to China and Vietnam. The theme of the 4th season was ‘Apocalypse of Hell’, and the activities certainly did stand up to this theme. The tasks were more extreme in comparison to the previous seasons. It took place in Vietnam. However, seven dragon balls were ultimately collected, and the wishes of the cast members were all granted. Seasons 5, 6, and 6.5 were shot in Hokkaido, Japan, and Hong Kong. The 7th and 8th seasons of the show were entirely shot in South Korea. New Journey To The West won the Best Content Award in the Variety Category in the tvN10 Awards of 2016. The show has a total of 10 spin-offs. Two of the most recent ones from 2021 are ‘Don’t Look Back’ and ‘Spring Camp’. All the spin-offs were originally aired on tvN. ‘Spring Camp’ is the only one to be aired on TVING.
