The anime was created and directed by He Xiaofen. The first season was released in 2018, which was shortly followed by another season in 2020. This was the first Chinese anime to be nominated in the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2018. Scissor Seven: Overview
Scissor Seven is a hilarious blend of action and supernatural powers. The story centers around Seven, an amnesiac barber by the day and assassin by night. He is currently 21, but he lost his memories at the age of 19. Before his memory loss, Seven was a ruthless killer and extremely strong. He had also mastered the thousand demon daggers, a powerful sword. After his memory loss, seven has turned into a goofy bakadere character who hardly completes his tasks. The story follows various hilarious encounters as Seven trains to become an assassin again from scratch. Scissor Seven consists of several gags where Seven’s incompetence at his job is featured. This is extremely ironic, considering that he used to be a pro assassin. Seven meets Thirteen, another assassin who he often flirts with despite her constant rejection and despises for him. The show uses rib-tickling humor to develop the characters. As the story progresses, the show slowly enters the domain of justice and secrets. Seven displays a sense of justice as he realizes how he does not prefer killing. To gather the truth about his past, he ends up focussing harder to become a part of the Killer League. Towards the end of season 2, Seven has regained some parts of his memory. However, a lot is yet to be revealed, giving out a lot of scope for an interesting plot for season 3.
Scissor Seven: Season 3 Release Date
The third season of Scissor was released on Tencent Video in China on 21 January 2021. We are expecting Scissor Seven Season 3 to release on Netflix around mid-2021; this is because it takes few months to release the english version in the western media, such as Netflix. We will keep you posted.

Following that, 5 episodes of the anime were released. The episodes with English subtitles are not available officially outside of China. So far, Netflix has made no comments regarding their interest or disinterest in releasing the third season of this record-breaking anime. However, with the overwhelming fan pressure, it feels like Netflix will be bound to update it soon. The episodes without any subtitles have leaked into various illegal sights. However, we strictly recommend streaming anime on authentic sites and networks to support the makers and appreciate their efforts.

One of the fan’s favorite detail is 7’s eyes turning red when he gets serious. The new season is going to unravel more from 7’s pasts as he embarks on his journey to get recruited in the Killer League. A lot many new gags are on the way to make their way onto the show to give the viewers an intense yet fun experience. The trailer looks promising too.
