Deep dive into The Flash Season 7 Episode 1

The first episode of season seven begins with Chester, played by Brandon McKnight, waking Barry, played by Grant Gustin, out of a cryopod. Barry is currently using the cryopod to take rest and keep from losing his speed since the Speed Force is gone. Chester explains Eva McCulloch, played by Efrat Dor, is using her Mirror Master powers so that she could travel quickly across skyscrapers to a warehouse. Even though Barry quickly speeds over to find her, he finds out that she can move at the speed of light. Thus he wasn’t even able to touch her. Eva knocks him down with her mirror gun and reminds him that they’re on the same side. Further in the episode, we saw Eva killing Sam Scudder, who was the original Mirror Master. And over in the mirror dimension, Iris, played by Candice Patton, was still trapped and was losing her grip on what’s real and what’s not. While she was trapped, she lost’s in her thoughts that she was enjoying her date night with Barry. But unfortunately, she realizes that she never escaped. At CCPD, there was Joe, played by Jesse L. Martin, Cecile, played by Danielle Nicolet, and Barry go over Eva’s attacks on Black Hole warehouses.

They went to the warehouse to figure out Eva’s plan. Cecile went to talk to Top since she’s her defense attorney. Nash Wells, played by Tom Cavanagh, Chester, and Barry, gather at S.T.A.R. Labs to finalize the Artificial Speed Force to give back Barry his speed. After a test run fails, Nash had some visitors, which include some of the other Wells in Nash’s mind and along with Harry Wells. Harry revealed that in order to get Flash his ability to run at top speed, Nash must die. It was to power the ASF using a living organ, which was here Nash to function. In order to create the fusion, all the multiverse particles of different wells should be transported to a fusion sphere. At CCPD, we saw Cecile talks to Top. With the help of her telepathic powers, she discovers that she betrayed Scudder and let Eva kill him. This was done because she has joined forces with her and is one of her followers. Top then uses her telepathic powers to frighten Cecile to leave from there in shock and afraid. Meanwhile, Nash tries to come up with another way to power the Speed Force. She thinks if Allegra, played by Kayla Compton, can use her powers to force Wells’s particles into the fusion sphere. But this attempt ended up in vain, and it backfires, and the particles almost hit Allegra. But before that, Barry pushes her out of the way and gets hit with the particles himself. Chester thinks they should get Gideon to figure out what to do. When he came to know what all happened, Gideon informs the group that Barry’s mind can’t handle all the other personas. He was healed because of his speed, and it is what keeps him alive. Nash finally admits that it was all his mistake as he lied. He then tells Allegra and Chester that in order for Flash to get his speed, he would have to die. Chester knows Barry wouldn’t want anyone to die to get his speed back, and thus he says that he believes that they will find another way. While this time over in the mirror dimension, we could see Iris being haunted by different versions of herself. They were calling her sad, irrelevant, and weak. And back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Harry Wells tells Nash that he knows there’s a good man in him, and he just has to find him. Cecile again went to talk to Top, but this time she uses her telepathic powers to scare Top so badly that she reveals Eva’s next move. Eva’s next move was to have a supersonic jet explode above Central City. Knowing about Eva’s next move, Cecile tells Joe. But Joe reminds her that Flash wasn’t fast enough to stop it. At the same time, in the mirror dimension, Iris realized that Eva is using different forms of Iris to distract her so that she can’t escape. Iris stands up to the copies and tells them off, and thus she was able to get rid of them. At S.T.A.R. Labs, Chester built a device so that when Allegra uses her powers to get the Wells out of Barry, this power can be directed back into Nash. Chester’s try was successful and got Barry back to normal. But unfortunately, they hear the alert sounds, which was about the supersonic plane. Left with no other opinion, Nash sacrifices himself and becomes the living organ for the fusion sphere and thus powers the ASF. We after see an emotional scene where A teary-eyed Barry runs off. The Wells gets energized into the fusion sphere, the ASF is powered up, and finally, Barry is re-energized with Speed Force. With the speed force, Flash speeds off and reaches the supersonic plane in time and to toss the explosive high into the air. Thus he prevented the explosion without harming anyone.

And Later at S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry, Allegra, and Chester were all mourning the loss of Nash and as well of the other Wells. Barry says that he needs to call Caitlin and Cisco to tell them about this bad news. He was worried as if how they’ll take it. When Chester asks what will be their future plans, Barry assures them they’ll get Iris and everyone else back. The episode came to its conclusion where Eva was opening a computer file, which her husband left for her. In that file, there was a video that shows when she was hit by dark matter and when the particle accelerator exploded. She realizes the real Eva McCulloch was died long ago by being slammed into the wall mirror and what now we are seeing is her mirror duplicate.
